April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball athletes to win medals multiple times at an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal with Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. Perhaps it is her last chance, at 39 years old. Still confident but she is not sure. If we do our best or even if we play well I feel like we'll win the gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Also, I'll take the chance to have chances. Ross born the 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. At Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of activities. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. She was clearly the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker outside setter and hitter at the tennis court, according to her bio at the college. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. She also was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are continuing to play from 2017. However, Ross was a major player in the beach volleyball scene before joining the duo. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of important tournaments throughout her career together with two other partners. One of them is a volleyball legend. Ross teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's trainer. Together, Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning the world championship in 2009. The duo won silver at London's Olympics. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. As fate would have it Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics of the year 2016. Ross played for the USC Trojans in college after graduating from the high school she attended. It was a successful career for Ross in the university. She was an All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000 as a young freshman. The Trojans had the chance to make it to the Final Four with her help. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. As an individual Ross established her status in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the best female college volleyball players in the United States. Ross took a course in international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mother died of breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. She continues to remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie at the beach as well as in her everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
